Ladies Who Lunch
Venice is blessed with a great number of wonderful women who are fun, intelligent, and delightful company. A few of those women get together on the last Saturday of each month to share friendship and conversation. Each of these
women have busy active lives and the opportunity to 'lunch' is a fun event. With tongue in cheek, we have named our group 'The Ladies Who Lunch' after the the song from Stephen Sondheim's Broadway show Company.
The Wickheaded Woman considers herself lucky to be part of this group of great women.

This month found us at a very unusual place - Bonnell's Boutique and Winery at 317B W. Venice Avenue. Thanks to Sherrey for introducing us to this quaint little spot! The salads are beautiful and there were raves about the seafood quiche .. all in all a tasty spot to dine. Unfortunately our photo efforts were less than stellar and our group photo did not take ... only to be discovered after we had all dispersed. We were a small group but not lacking in the enjoyment of each others company.
Since the May Saturday for our regular get together is Memorial Weekend, we decided to skip May and will continue in June .... see you then.

A very special gathering for the Ladies was held at Honoluana ... it was Ann Hall's
bachelorette party and shower! A great time was had by all and Ann seemed to enjoy all the special attention befitting a soon-to-be Bride. Honoluana's upstair dining room was perfect and as always, their food delish.

Here in Venice it is the height of 'Season' and we are packed with Winter Visitors (Snowbirds). So many things are happening that one can not possibly do them all. Inspite of that, we met at The Upper Crust, in the heart of downtown Venice, for our February gathering. Thanks to Beverly for making the arrangements and bringing us back to a place where the food is wonderful and the service great! Beyond our enjoyment of each other, we celebrated Jean's newest title of 'Queen Jean', the prolific blogger for the Venice Magazine. Jean writes about our fair city and many things of interest.

A New Year and a Second Anniversary for The Ladies Who Lunch to celebrate!
As we start our 3rd year, a special thanks go to Polly, Veronica, and Connie for having lunch in January 2009 and deciding to invite more friends to join them.
For January, Polly and Veronica guided us to Cafe Italia ... a new restaurant with wonderful food and service. We begun our 3rd year with good friendship and beautiful roses from Emilio Carlesimo via his beautiful wife Brenda! Thanks to all!

2010 was another fun year:

2009 was a great year:

The Upper Crust, downtown Venice. Ladies take to the water at the Crow's Nest.
